A tileable hatch, also called an inspection hatch, gives access to pipes, valves, the manifold and other equipment behind a tiled wall. The hatch is covered with the same tile as the wall. The wall stays even and only the grout line around the hatch is visible. The hatches are designed and made in Estonia from carbon fibre reinforced PETG plastic.
Both hatches open with a push. They differ in how they are fixed and in size.
| Hidden hatch | Hinged maintenance hatch | |
|---|---|---|
| Fixing | with magnets | with hinges |
| Suitable size | about 40 × 30 cm | made to size |
| Rooms | bathroom, toilet | bathroom, toilet, sauna |
| Included | 2 push-open mechanisms, 2 magnets, 4 adhesive templates | 2 push-open mechanisms, 2 hinges, 4 adhesive templates |
If the hatch will be about 40 × 30 cm, choose the hidden hatch that closes with magnets. For larger tiles we recommend the tileable maintenance hatch with hinges, which can be made to the size you need.
A tile-over hatch must be in the wall before tiling begins. Plan the position and size of the hatch once the pipes and manifold are in place. Tileable hatches suit both new builds and renovations.
If you later need to turn the valve or check the manifold, the hidden hatch opens with one push.
